The duration of this engagement is an initial 3 months with a potential to extend based on need and performance. This is a 4 year project. The candidates for these positions will be reporting to their office in Herndon Virginia. They are setting up phone interviews for next week.
Description of Role:
We are currently seeking Oracle database engineer for a large government contract. The candidates will be responsible for designing and implementing enterprise database environments. The candidates will assist in the design and implementation of highly redundant database architecture. This position will handle a variety of responsibilities including: configuring, monitoring and troubleshooting database environment. The candidate must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Should be comfortable working in a team environment and willing to work flexible hours. On-call and after hours support is a requirement of this position.

RMAN Backup and Recovery Skills
Responsibilities:
* Support, monitor, test and troubleshoot database software problems.
* Performing and coordinating effective installation and performance of advanced database system software on servers.
* Install new software releases, system upgrades, evaluate and install patches and resolve software related problems.
* Plan and perform appropriate procedures, documentation, and other procedures related to IT.
* Maintain, monitor, analyze system components and make recommendations for system improvements
* Be available for after hours / on-call support.
