Description:
As a Programmer Analyst supporting our Corporate Solutions division (CS), you will be responsible for product development and maintenance for our web based administration systems. Responsibilities include: analysis, application coding, database modeling and documentation, development of stored procedures, data analysis, testing, and creation and maintenance of technical documentation. In order to successfully complete assignments, it will be necessary to interact with a variety of personnel, ranging from stakeholders to management to administrative and programming staff.
Responsibilities:
- Developing and optimizing stored procedures and functions
- Assist in performance tuning tables, indexes, and queries
- Analyzing User requirements to develop functional and technical requirement specifications.
- Coding and testing programs written from provided specifications.
- Assisting project team in understanding technology alternatives
- Providing Production Support and ongoing maintenance for internal and external clients.
- Documentation of development or maintenance completed.
Required Skills:
- Qualified candidates should have a minimum of 2 years database development experience and a minimum of 1 year experience in the design, coding, and implementation of web based applications.
- The candidate should be proficient in Microsoft SQL server 2000 & 2005 (2008 preferred).
- In addition candidate should have experience programming with Java as well as exposure to IBM Rational Application Developer (RAD) and Eclipse IDE.
- Java framework includes EJBs, Javascript, JSP, JSF, Struts, running under IBM WebSphere Application Server or Apache.
- Demonstrated experience with XML, Web Services, SOA,
- Experience with installing and upgrading vendor packages is a plus.
- Experience working with an offshore engagement is a plus.
- Experience supporting Group Insurance a plus.
- Candidates must have excellent analytical and problem solving skills and be detail oriented.
- Seeking a team player able to work in a fast paced environment, handle multiple projects at one time with minimal supervision.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required.
- Possible international travel.
