Here is the job description:

 

Title: Distributed Developer (Oracle PL/SQL Developer and Java Development experience)

Location: Cedar Rapids, IA

Duration: 6-12 months

 

Client is looking for Qualified candidate with minimum of five years software development experience with Oracle and JAVA, Oracle PL/SQL along with Relational database and SQL Object-oriented analysis, design, and implementation.  Knowledge of insurance industry is helpful

 

Responsibilities

         Designs, codes, unit tests, and documents programs, sub-systems and processes.

         Develops specifications for new and existing software systems/applications and sub-systems.

         Coordinates with co-workers, clients, operations, technical support, and vendors.

         Interfaces with clients to determine requirements, resolves problems, and performs unit testing.

         Analyzes system and program requirements.   Solves problems with systems and programs.  

         Performs training services. Prepares presentations.  

         Provides technical direction on projects and requires minimal supervision.

         Excellent verbal and written communication skills.  Strong negotiation and persuasion skills.  Superior problem solving skills.  

         Ability to resolve most of complex problems and errors that occur for processes and applications in a division.  Excellent analytical skills. 

         Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.  

         Must be a team player. 

         Ability to work independently and with little direct supervision.

         Willing to share on-call responsibilities after office hours.

Qualifications

         Minimum of five years software development experience with Oracle and JAVA Oracle PL/SQL

         Relational database and SQL

         Object-oriented analysis, design, and implementation

         Java, J2EE, JSP, Servlets, JDBC

 

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

         Oracle database fundamentals, knowledge of oracle objects and oracle related tools like SQL*Loader.

         Entity-Relationship diagrams and database design concepts.

         Standard Open Source/Web Framework knowledge (Struts, JSF, JUnit, Log4J, etc.) 

         Familiarity with UML and software modeling practices

         J2EE / Oracle Certification
