Manual QA Tester Role in Philadelphia with Reinsurance experience, Property and Casualty insurance Experience

QA Tester – Manual (40/hr)

Philadelphia, PA

6 months

As the QA Tester, you will be required to develop and implement procedures for maintaining and or enhancing the integrity of applications

and ensuring that requirements are clearly defined and testable. You will be responsible for the creation execution of detailed test plans and

scripts to verify software new and existing (regression) functionality.  You will be expected to understand business requirements and ensure

that those requirements are testable as well as track and report defects, report progress and assist with risk assessments.

 Responsibilities:

 Understand requirements and is able to translate those requirements into written test plans and detailed test cases, both front end (Browser based) and back end (SQL Server).  Maintain requirements traceability matrix

 

• Execute test cases, track and report defects.  Considerable back-end (SQL) testing; requires writing SQL scripts, understanding data models and reporting results to the team lead.
• Works closely with the QA Lead to review project requirements and design specifications to identify gaps and ensure documented project criteria are clear, consistent, and testable.
• Identifies test data required to complete test scenarios and interacts with project team members to ensure the data is available for testing.
• Utilize test tools and complete quality assurance documentation as required.

 Qualifications:

 

• A working knowledge of a structured test methodology is required
• Several years experience (on multiple projects) as a QA tester
• Multiple years experience with software QA – having designed, implemented and tuned testing processes and templates on multiple projects.
• Experience with all phases and types of testing including System, Integration, Regression and User Acceptance Testing
• Insurance/Reinsurance data and process knowledge is highly preferred.  Candidate should have at the minimum several years experience testing in a complex, financial-services environment, and experience working with insurance applications.
• Clear communication skills – including the ability to communicate large amounts of information in a clear format. Also must be able to listen effectively, incorporate various viewpoints and opinions into a solution, then gain consensus among project stakeholders
• BS degree in Computer Science or related program is desired.
