Position Summary
The DataStage ETL Consultant is a proficient mid-level technical contributor with a broad working knowledge of information technology and Data Warehousing concepts. This role is expected to develop Server or Parallel Processing ETL jobs and job control sequences using DataStage 8.0.1 or higher. Under moderate supervision, work from specifications to develop these ETL Processes using DataStage. This position is also expected to have a very good technical and working knowledge SQL and SQL query development concepts.


Position Responsibilities
Develop new ETL Jobs and Job Control Sequences using IBM DataStage .
Apply client standards and best practices to ETL process design.
Follow SDLC processes for development, test and implementation of ETL processes.
Perform data analysis and data validation tasks.
Create documentation for ETL Jobs and Job Control Sequences where necessary.
Will be required to work on moderately complex tasks.

Position Requirements
BA/BS degree in Computer Science or related, a minimum of 5 years experience required
Strong analytical skills for troubleshooting issues and creating optimal solutions
Strong team player with effective interpersonal skills and the ability to deal with many different levels of technical and business acumen
Competent working on all phases of the software development life cycle
Must be able to manage multiple assignments simultaneously
Excellent verbal and written communications skills required

Technical Skills:
Required skills - IBM DataStage version 8.0.1 or higher, very good technical and working knowledge SQL and SQL query development concepts, understanding of data management in a high volume Data Warehousing environment.
Preferred skills - Working knowledge Data Warehousing Concepts and Star Schema database configuration, Unix scripting, understanding of data management in high volume
Programming experience in a Fortune 500, fast-paced company preferred.
????Knowledge of Retail Business is preferred.
Plus skills - DataStage Administration, DataStage SAP R3 Plug-In, SAP/BW, PL/SQL Development, and Business Requirements gathering.
