Purpose and function of job: Job Title: Web Presentation Architect Purpose and function of job: This position reports to the Presentation Development and Architecture Manager. This individual will combine creative and innovative techniques with cutting-edge technologies to create and maintain dynamic page layouts, widgets, and other Rich Internet content for all of Client web properties. This individual should have a strong background in presentation development and architecture. This individual will work closely with content management, technology, marketing and LOB leaders to create and maintain a unified, customer driven direction. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. Solutions oriented with the ability to multi-task and make quick, innovative, and creative changes based on feedback from the project teams. Principle Accountabilities: 1. Execute high quality web presentation development for all Client web properties under the direction of the Presentation Development and Architecture Manager 2. Communicate Presentation Development and Architecture standards and adhere to all presentation architecture and enterprise development standards 3. Work closely with content management, web usability to develop designs that meet the goals of the site design and user experience teams 4. Collaboration with IT and business partners to preserve the integrity of the Web Presentation Architecture and client-side programming standards 5. Various other duties as assigned Experience and Skills requirements: Type of prior related experience: 5-7 years experience as a Presentation Developer at a major agency, retail or financial services institution or large ecommerce site. Advanced level experience in Dreamweaver and Photoshop is necessary. In-depth knowledge of standards-based web development and accessibility requirements. A robust understanding of HTML, XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, and XML markup and standardization practices. The ideal candidate should have substantial experience developing and maintaining multiple websites on Enterprise level Content Management Systems. Reporting relationships: Reports to: Presentation Development and Architecture Manager Scope/Dimensions: Scope of accountability for a Web Presentation Architect includes all consumer, dealer, business and commercial sites. Education and certification requirements: Education level: Required: Bachelor Degree, Masters desired. Minimum: 5 years experience in web development, interactive design, usability or related field Major field of study: Computer Science, Human Factors, Web Design, Information Systems Certifications or special training needed: Relevant conference/seminar attendance. In-depth knowledge of XHTML, CSS, and JavaScript Percentage of time spent on each of the principal Accountabilities in Level Scope: 1. Presentation development and execution 50% 2. Client-side programming 15% 3. Deployment and management of deployment activities 15% 4. Collaborative work with remote teams 5% 5. Documentation of new technologies 10% 6. Administrative 5% Technical Capabilities & Department Specific Accountabilities: Implement and support innovative, accessible, cost-effective solutions for all Client web properties. Partner across related disciplines including IA/ID/Usability, content management, web application development and vendor managed solutions. Key relationships include server-side development teams, ITG and current development vendors. In-depth understanding of CSS 1, CSS2, and emerging CSS3 standards. Must have practical experience with accessibility, DOM scripting and CSS page layouts. Related skills include Adobe Creative Suite, Ajax, ARIA, JSP, ASP, PHP, XML, XSL/XSLST and deep understanding of CSS. Experience in utilizing different types of content management systems.
