Wacker Dr Chicago, IL 60606 The person hired for this postion will join a small team of developers using agile development techinques to add features to the ClaimFocus User Interface Web Application. - Primary technologies used are: JSP, Struts 2, Hibernate, REST, Spring, JBOSS. - Agile techniques include: TDD, Continuous Integration, Iterative development. - Development tools include: Eclipse, Subversion, Selenium, JUnit, TestNG. - The application provides and consumes Web Service interfaces. Candidates are expected to have current experience using these skills in this type of environment to create production quality User Interfaces. Professional software development skills are required. Team members are expected to accept responsibility for their software, their schedules, and their role in creating an enjoyable and productive work environment. They should be able to work independently to produce software that conforms to local conventions and be able to overcome obstacles on their own while preferring to share problems and solutions with others. We are specifically looking for a developer to help with this specific Web-based project, but other software projects at this location involve processing larger data sets with Unix(e.g. Linux)-oriented programming techniques and candidates that also have background or strong interest in such projects will have an edge. Specific ancillary skills include: shell scripting (bash/gawk/python/perl), gmake, SQL programming, and relational database (Postgresql/Oracle) use/tuning. These tools are used to support data analysis, predictive modeling, and productionizing/maintaining complex data processes.
