Contract News: Arieso completes largest rollout of ariesoGEO to date

Arieso has announced its largest deployment yet, for a major European mobile operator
ariesoGEO will provide real-time information from every subscriber on the network, allowing the operator to make quick and accurate decisions on where to increase network capacity and improve performance. In addition ariesoGEO enables the operator to manage its VIPs and offer geographic based Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to its corporate customers, allowing specific customer buildings to be monitored for performance.

ariesoGEO provides the customer experience down to every corporate building allowing dropped call rates, coverage, interference and many other customer centric KPIs to be measured. ariesoGEO uses data transmitted by mobiles in the normal course of conducting a call and requires no additional hardware, such as GPS in handsets, to operate in real time or historical analysis mode. By geo-locating tens of millions of calls per day, ariesoGEO creates a true-to-life picture of network performance as witnessed by subscribers,
whether they are indoors or outdoors, in business or residential areas, at any time. www.arieso.com

Contract News: NATO selects Polycom Telepresence for global collaboration

Polycom reportedly saves NATO an estimated $51,000 in travel costs and 21,000 kg of carbon emissions per quarter
Deployed in six international locations, the Polycom immersive telepresence products join an existing deployment of Polycom video conferencing systems in use today at NATO headquarters and in outposts around the world. The technology is used daily for central command communications, emergency management, critical needs assessment, crisis communications, intra/inter-agency collaboration, workgroup collaboration and project management.

The geographic disparity among locations that made it difficult to bring teams together to manage programme issues such as budget requirements and technical concerns has been virtually eliminated through the use of immersive telepresence. For example, NATO recently replaced a series of quarterly in-person meetings with telepresence, resulting in estimated cost savings of $51,000, over 500 hours of travel time and 21,000 kg of carbon emissions for one quarterly session. www.polycom.com
