Systems Administrator - Storage
Client has relocated a Data Center to Hauppauge, NY and is in need of a contingent worker to help set up the storage infrastructure. We are looking for an experienced Systems Administrator focusing on storage infrastructure. This person will be working on a global team of 25 reporting into the Head of Storage Support. Tasks will be communicated through a work request system and this contingent worker will be responsible for the tasks regarding storage issues.
Qualifications of the Ideal Candidate:
· Knowledge of EMC & NetApp storage infrastructure and tools. inc ECC, DMX, Clariion and FAS devices
· Knowledge of TSM or Netbackup infrastructure and backup tools. inc. tape silo technology, esp. sun storagetek SL3000
· Experience of managing fiber channel SAN switches, preferably Cisco
· Proficiency in at least one of the following operating systems: Solaris (preferred), Windows or Linux
· Experience with tiered storage and the ability to quantify the storage requirements for a particular project or application
· An appreciation for business continuity and storage based replication technologies
· 2 years experience with storage infrastructure in a large corporate environment ( 500+ users )
Candidate must be able to work at 88 Parkway Drive South, Hauppauge, NY
Current project end date is 03/31/09; with slight possibility of being extended.
