SUMMARY:
Use your broad software development skills to expand the capabilities of the online gaming platform. Combine your software development skills with the current technologies to provide the general gaming capabilities used to create compelling, and entertaining online games in the industry. Apply your knowledge of Adobe Flex/Action Script and web development technologies � to enhance our gaming system. Assume ownership of key product components and provide technical leadership for projects and project teams through successful project completion. In this hands-on role, be responsible for the design, implementation, unit test and delivery of online game presentation platform features.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Participate in the design and development of next generation Thin Client gaming platform.
- Explore ways to leverage Web technologies (Flex, Flash and other technologies) in the game platform.
- Enhance existing features as well as design new features.
- Assume ownership of key game platform components
- Work with the Producers and Product Managers to define and refine requirements
- Provide clear technical direction to development team. Perform design and code reviews for other developers. Provide technical direction to other developers working on game projects.
- Establish programming standards.
- Contribute ideas to improve product functionality, maintainability or performance
- Effectively multitask projects and deliver with quality in a timely manner
Required Skills:
� BS in Computer Science or equivalent degree required
� 6+ years of software development experience with emphasis on user-oriented development
� Expertise in Flash-based technologies with 4+ years of ActionScript programming experience. Significant experience with ActionScript 3.0 and Flex MXML.
� Working knowledge of the Flash IDE environment
� In depth knowledge of software engineering and object-oriented programming principles.
� Experience with design patterns and refactoring.
� Experience with Test Driven Development and unit testing
� Experience with XML and XML-related APIs
� Familiarity and past work experience with design specification methodologies (Use Cases, UML)
� Hands-on experience with client-server applications.
� Demonstrated abilities in designing complex systems
� Excellent communication skills � able to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical personnel
� Customer focus
� Team player
Other useful knowledge:
� Exposure to ActionScript 1.0/2.0 is useful.
� Experience with open source web technologies such as Ant
� Exposure to other object-oriented programming languages (C++, C# and/or Java)
� Interest or experience in online gaming
� Working knowledge of Linux and Sun Solaris
