Purpose | Develops the Workplace architecture and standards including application landscape, application distribution, desktop builds, application virtualization and hardware/software standards. Works with project teams to understand the customer requirements for the workplace and operates in the capacity of subject mater expert to coach the projects into successful implementations. Understands the business requirements and develops an architecture and roadmap to deliver those requirements. Works with project programmes and partners to review and assess requirements and provide guidance and direction. | | | ||||

Scope and Impact e.g. | Within the area of the Workplace, to analyse, research, and evaluate alternative solutions and serve as a subject matter expert between the business and the IT organisation. Ensures architecture supports the execution of critical business applications and develops high level continuance plans in the event of a lapse in the architectural infrastructure. Technology delivery or governance role which achieves planned objectives critical to the business. Understands current and future business, technology, strategy, customers and competitors. Is a recognised technical expert in the company. Communcates technical ideas in Thomson Reuters Markets. Works on the most complicated technical projects or business issues. Scope will often be across multiple projects or a programme in the Workplace areas including end-user segmentation, application delivery and asset management. | | | ||||

Major Accountabilities | Responsible to reconcile the Thomson Reuters Markets Workplace landscape and align it with the agreed strategy. Helps define products and technical direction as well as customer requirements for technology and service. Responsible to work with vendors to ensure the successful realization of projects. Performs a governance role over projects in the area of expertise. Develops standards and policies. Develops technical vision in the Enterprise Workspace area and communicates business impact of technology. Responsible for successful execution of technical work. Aligns technical strategy with business goals. Translates technical judgements into business opportunities and management constraints. Visibility and influence within the wider organisation. | | | ||||
