Description

Systems Architect leads the design and development of next generation internal business systems. Possesses experience in software design and development with a focus on the integration of internal business systems across multiple functional areas, notably finance/accounting, financial transaction processing, etc. In addition, with packaged systems evaluation, selection and implementation in the areas of Finance, Accounting and/or ERP systems. Possesses experience in design and integration of business applications and enterprise IT infrastructure. Designs IT infrastructure components and architecture. Experience with design and development of custom modules/solutions and the integration of these components with packaged solutions. Proven methodology experience for complex systems integration projects and demonstrated ability to achieve deliverables on time and on budget. Systems Architects capabilities with 8 or more years of experience, relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, independently performs a variety of complicated tasks, a wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

 

 

Project Description – SVRS Application Enhancements FY10

The Government Accountability Board (G.A.B.) completed a data feed deliverable for the Election Assistance Commission (EAC) Grant Data Collection project. This is a grant that was awarded to 5 states to fund the development of a data reporting tool, improve internal business processes which collect the data, and develop best practices for election result data collection.

As part of the “Improve internal business processes which collect the data” objective, G.A.B. is looking at the Canvass process to improve the collection of that data from each county.

Currently the collection of information is done through a system called SWEBIS II. Once data is received from counties, G.A.B. must undertake a huge manual effort to format and import the data into the SWEBIS II system. This is the business issue this project will address.

In this project, the contractors will lead the development of a web-based data entry portal that will utilize the underlying guiding objectives:

 

·         Interface with current Statewide Voter Registration System (SVRS).

·         Minimize the impact to existing county processes with any changes to improve the State process. Build on the processes the clerks already do today.

·         Build edit check on the input process to validate data as it is received and updated into the State system.

·         The ability to deliver results sooner and get data to electors quicker.

This project may also include the improvement of G.A.B. data collection process for polling place accessibility surveys and other data collection initiatives interfacing with the current SVRS system.
