We need Network Support Engineer spot in NYC. Candidate must be a US citizen or a Green Card

NETWORK SUPPORT ENGINEER

  The Network Support Engineer position is a combination of network support (70%) and project engineering (30%).  The position will support the network infrastructure across eight global office locations consisting of 100+ LAN switches with 5,000+ network nodes.

   

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 

• Maintain & update documentation on all network devices.
• Monitor & manage network devices.
• Management & administration of network equipment including Checkpoint firewalls, Riverbed WAN accelerators, CISCO LAN switches & WAN routers, Bluecoat PROXY servers and Citrix Access Gateways.
• Security log reporting, firewall rule updates, new DMZ segments and support of Checkpoint ClientAuth security gateway for web-based applications.
• Implementation and support of Cisco Aironet wireless controller infrastructure with > 25 global Access Points.  Wireless security management.
• Management of segmented layer2, ACL-based security.

The ideal candidate will have an in-depth knowledge of spanning tree convergence troubleshooting, experience with 10GB backbone connectivity,  and the availability to provide occasional after-hours support.  

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years network support experience required.
• Previous experience in a large environment (>1000 users) required. 
• PIX or Checkpoint experience required.
• QoS Experience required.
• Microsoft networking experience required.
• IP Telephony experience required.
• Minimum of CCNP required. 

 

Preferred:

 

·          HP server hardware experience preferred.

·          Riverbed experience preferred.

·          Checkpoint experience preferred.

·          Bachelors Degree preferred.

·          CCIE Written certification preferred.

Candidates should possess excellent written and oral communications skills with demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and solve network problems independently.  Candidates must also possess a professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills in order to interact successfully with personnel at all levels. The candidate should also be comfortable supporting many users and large information stores.
