PHP Developer

 

Contract Position: 1 year contract

 

Location: Tampa, FL

 

Rate: $40/-hr CTC

 

• Qualified candidates should be tech tested in PHP at minimum and possibly SQL/Developers – We will provide this testing
• Candidates preferred to be local if possible.
• They would prefer candidates with experience working in a team or group/structured environment and with solid Corporate experience.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

• Provide web development for transaction oriented web sites.
• Maintain server cluster, including Load Balancing
• Maintain PHP, including version updates
• Maintain/Admin MySQL
• Additional responsibilities will be some application development, notably troubleshooting existing systems

 

REQUIREMENTS:

 

• Strong PHP (PHP4; PHP5) experience including object oriented skills and XML.
• Solid JavaScript experience in DHTML models and AJAX.
• Experience with Sun/Solaris or LINUX.
• Excellent SQL knowledge and a background working with large databases.
• Knowledge of Version Control and experience with Apache a plus.
• Web development experience in transaction oriented web sites. (This means not someone who has mostly done site design, shopping carts, and so on.)
• PHP - currently using PHP4; PHP5 experience is good but since the customer is on version 4, that carries a little more weight. We like object oriented experience.
• JavaScript. Use it extensively, both in DHTML models and with AJAX. Forms validation is not enough. We look for object oriented and DHTML.
• UNIX. Must have some experience with Sun Solaris or Linux.
• Database experience. The candidate must have good database experience, with large databases. Very good SQL knowledge is a must.

 

This person needs to understand the full development life cycle and be able to work in a group, gather or fix a requirement if needed and overall, but a good communicator.

 

Additional skills include:

 

• XML - Candidate should have some experience working with XML including using parsers and PHP functions to create XML streams.
• Version Control - some experience working with version control software is preferred
• Team experience - the candidate must have experience working in a team environment and not just one man shops.
• Apache server experience is preferred. Also desirable is the ability to compile and configure Apache
