Position Title: Business Analyst - Data Quality

Location: CA - Los Angeles Area

Duration  : 3+ Months,

Description:

Seeking an experienced Business Analyst with a demonstrated focus on Data Analysis and Data Quality. This consultant will be part of a team responsible for delivery and production support of several high profile applications involving Licensing, Publishing and Property Rights for digital music, film and TV properties.

 

This consultant will specifically be responsible for:
> Performing system and data analysis to address production issues;
> Analysis of all development and production data integration, data conversion, data mapping and data clean-up initiatives;
> Participate in the analysis and execution of overall technical data conversion design;
> Ensure data quality through ongoing monitoring and data validation;
> Analyze and identify root cause of data discrepancies between component applications and develop viable remediation strategies;
> Coordinate with developers on application changes, development and deployment;
> Create and maintain systems documentation and user guides;
> Produce and deliver status updates and written status reports to members of IT staff and stakeholders;
> Create and maintain Project Plans

 

Skills/Requirements

 

Ø      Bachelors degree in Information Systems/Computer Science/Engineering or at least 5 years experience doing systems analysis
> Proven ability to perform system and data analysis for complex web and client server business applications using large databases
> Experience gathering and documenting complex business requirements
> Ability and willingness to work under aggressive deadlines and meet project commitments
> Ability to work independently and collaboratively with minimum supervision as part of a team
> Experience conducting Gap analysis
> Experience with data mapping, data conversion, and data cleansing
> Strong understanding of Rational Database Management design principals
> Familiarity with HTML and Crystal Reports
> Understanding of RUP software development methodology, data modeling and use case creation concepts
> Experience developing comprehensive test plans; conduct system & regression testing
> Experience preparing training materials and user guides; maintaining systems documentation and conducting user training
> Strong written and verbal communication skills
> Proficient with Microsoft Project
> Proven experience with SQL Server, Oracle 9i/10g, PL/SQL, MS Access
> Development of ad-hoc queries for user support
> Generate ad-hoc reports using SQL queries

Desired Skills:
> Knowledge of Film/TV Music business as it pertains to publishing/licensing/cue sheet creation
> Leading JAD sessions
