Hello, "Banned" people situation is a bit confused just now. I'm suspecting
most of them were just bouncing, and now they're banned because Google changed
the way for managing the bounce. They could also have a no more working
primary or alternate Google account. If you want, you could give here his mail
address, only in the form: - Mon, Sep 21 2009 12:50 am

New group manager can't approve members - 2 new

I recently authorized a new manager for my group. He apparently gets the
requesting permission to join e-mails, but is told he does not have admin
authority to say "yes". Does he need to have a gmail acct to be a mgr? - Mon,

Oops. Unsubscribed before deleting group - 2 new

Aldo, I don't think my situation is a complicated one. I created the group and
subscribed to the group under only one e-mail address, and simply went to the
"Edit my membership" page and clicked on the "Unsubscribe" button. I was given
no warning that I was the owner of the group -- I was simply unsubscribed. (I
tried to resubscribe a couple of times, - Mon, Sep 21 2009 9:51 am

Group has no owners. Need to delete group. - 1 new
--------------------------------------------------
Aldo (and any Google Guides), I do, indeed, want my old group ([link]blissful-
beta-beauties) deleted. We were a small group and haven't posted anything to
it in either two or three years. I was just trying to be contentious and clean
up after myself. :-) Thanks, Aldo, for your very descriptive description about

Restricting access to only pages (and not discussions and files) - 1 new
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Is it possible to add a member into a group who has only restricted access to
one part of it (in our case, the pages) and no access to the discussions or
the files? If not, are there any suggested workarounds? Many thanks - Mon, Sep

reinstating banned members - 1 new

I have had the same problem. It seems a member has been banned without a
manager/owner effecting this change. I see no such "Unbanned" button available
anywhere. Could you direct me to its location? I have not as yet unsubscribed
the member. Jim - Mon, Sep 21 2009 1:35 pm

Is there a download counter for the posted files? - 1 new
---------------------------------------------------------
Hello, I wasn't sure in which forum to post this message. I use my google
group for posting files for my students to download each week. Within the
management tasks, can I set a "counting" option that allows me to see how many
times each file has been downloaded? I've looked around but don't see anything
like that. The students don't need to - Mon, Sep 21 2009 7:14 pm
