| POSITION SUMMARY
The SOA Software Engineer/Tester is responsible for the analysis of functional requirements, testing applications and Services, developing test plans, test cases, test strategies, test scripts, and evaluating test results to determine compliance with test plans and established business processes.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES
Write SOA Scripts
Look at code in the program and make sure the technical script is satisfied
Configure SOA UI tool
Java and SOA development background
SOAP programming and Groovy scripting is required
SOAP and XML required
May provides guidance to others in carrying out QA duties, while performing technically advanced responsibilities.
May assist in establishes and maintaining technical testing methodologies and processes.
Develops test strategies and plans. Oversees the development of and/or develops and maintains test data.
Develops and delivers verbal and written status reports.
Performs system quality assurance testing by executing test plans. Reports, documents, and tracks resolutions for software Defects identified in the testing process using approved tools and processes.
Assists in the confirmation of problems reported from outside sources, and assists system development staff in understanding problems and desired resolution.
Participates and/or leads peer reviews of software artifacts
Assists in the identification, selection, and implementation of software tools and technologies, and testing techniques and procedures that facilitates the SQA process.
Performs a variety of technical tasks which includes: conducting routine tasks in conformance with set procedures within the department; conducting regular technical functions, interacting with users or other departments; performing complex technical functions, evaluating systems or procedures and recommending action or changes; designing, developing, modifying and/or testing applications, systems and procedures; establishing and documenting procedures for carrying out technical duties, in compliance with best practices or new technology; and being accountable for compliance with regulatory requirements and development/oversight of strategic planning for technical function.
Prepares routine correspondence internal reports for internal/external review
Skills
Strong experience with structured Software Development Life Cycle and Quality Assurance processes, preferably with the Rational Unified Process (RUP).
Strong experience with functional, integration, and regression testing techniques in validating web-based applications and services.
Experience with techniques of problem identification, root cause analysis, issue documentation, resolution support, and testing.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; excellent interpersonal skills; and strong customer service orientation.
Strong technical knowledge and experience with the following:
An integrated SDLC tool suite preferably with the Rational tool suite including: Clearcase, Clearquest, Test Manager, and Requisite Pro.
Executing and monitoring automation scripts. Preferably using Rational Functional Tester.
Complex SQL queries and relational Data Base server testing experience preferred.
UNIX platforms, Windows platforms, and command line language.
Testing J2EE, .NET based applications.
Testing Web 2.0 technologies and applications i.e. Ajax, Flex and RSS feeds.
SOA Testing, WSDL documents and messaging protocols
SOAP & REST protocols
SOA testing tools preferably JackBe (Mashups) |
