Mainframe consultant / Analyst – 6months, VA

 

The qualifications and requirements for this candidate are defined below:

 

Exceptional technical, logical, analytical problem solving skills

Develop comprehensive system documentation based upon analysis of existing application code

Extensive experience successfully developing solutions in a mainframe batch and CICS environment

Familiar with the application of SDLC methodology and best practices for mainframe solution development

Prepare estimates for technical tasks

Develop program specifications, design testing requirements and code modules according to specifications and client standards

Prepare test plan and test modules

Develop program and system documentation

Conduct program and system implementation

Bachelor’s Degree in computer application development discipline

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

10 years experience designing, coding, upgrading and testing mainframe solutions

10 years recent experience with COBOL in an MVS environment

Experience with Datacom DB and IDEAL in an MVS environment desired

Problem solver, self-starter and resourceful personality

Experience with pension, financial or actuarial applications desired

Proficient with Microsoft Office tools including Visio
