Complete Description:
Resource will be responsible for developing, implementing and supporting web-based Remedy solutions, including action request management, asset management and survey management, and for performing DBA tasks to ensure continuity of business operations. The candidate may also attend user requirement meetings in order to understand application development requirements. The current applications are supported by an Oracle database, but may be migrated to SQL or a hybrid solution. It contains Java applets that were developed for ease of user interface via a number of different web browsers. Knowledge of web content rendering in multiple browsers is a plus.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Designing, modeling and creating web-based applications and systems for the test and production environments of Remedy Action Request System.
• Supporting application development (performance tuning, troubleshooting, object creation and maintenance) and system maintenance (upgrades, promotion of stored procedures, backup and recovery, troubleshooting, monitoring, unload/reload of tables, data integration) on the applications.
• Performing guidance and oversight of server administration, database performance tuning, security, maintaining and troubleshooting all activities related to the application.
• Leading staff in matters related to security, data and records management, and data security improvements related to the applications.
• Following agency best practices and standards for application and network architecture.
• Performing installation of third party tools (example: Business Objects, mobile I/O).
• Working with other Client staff, contractors and customers to integrate web-based applications into Remedy Action Request System.
• Collaborating with agency partners to enhance the current system in ways that will make it more widely available and appealing to the business needs of new customers.
• Staying aware of technological changes in his/her area of expertise, assigned applications, functional areas and projects.
• Responding promptly to production and user issues through completion/resolution.
• Working with other Client infrastructure teams to on new and existing projects and to ensure database capacity, proper functionality and availability. Implementing procedures for moving data and database objects between development, testing and production environments. Designing and implementing database restore and recovery plans.
• Documenting work in the form of status reports, Microsoft Project updates, etc.
• Attending meetings with business users/owners about the application.
• Performing other related duties as assigned.
