Published Description: | | Client, located in Garden City, NY is seeking a Senior Java Developer/Technical Team Lead for an immediate contract position. Details include: As a member of the E-commerce applications development team, the Senior Java Developer (consultant) is responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of the e-commerce application and related tools. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to: - Interact with business clients and other IT teams to understand and/or develop requirements. - Design, develop, and test solutions. - Document all work properly. - Support the resolution of production issues in a timely manner. - Participate in QA and maintenance processes. - Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or equivalent. - Minimum 3 years Java and J2EE (i.e., JSP, Servlet, EJB) development experience in consumer oriented, commercial environment. Also working knowledge of SQL or PL/SQL, and Oracle database and MS SQL server experience working with a version control management system (e.g. PVCS or ClearCase). - Minimum 3 years development experience on Windows and UNIX platforms. - Development experience with ATG Dynamo as well as UNIX and DOS shell scripts a plus. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical details effectively to both experts and novices within IT as well as business clients. - Strong time management and organizational skills as well as proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Applications and Microsoft Project also required. - Ability to work collaboratively and effectively, as part of a team, in a fast paced, dynamic environment. Able to take a lead role on projects as assigned, and guide team to pragmatic IT solutions given business needs/constraints. |
