POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Program Manager for Production Operations is responsible for managing the portfolio of interactive marketing projects on behalf of The client businesses (Explore).

 

-          Manage the overall pipeline of Explore initiatives on client in a standard, repeatable, and consistent fashion

-          Institute the general Production Operations guidelines and workflows within the Explore production teams. Assist with the development of standardized processes around project management and how they would relate to the Explore project portfolio.

-          Interface with the Category Leads (Music, Books, Movies, etc.)  and  the client delivery teams (Production Tools, Technology, Creative, etc.) to manage execution of the agreed-upon Portfolio

-          Be responsible for resourcing, budget alignment, project portfolio planning, metrics and operational reporting

-          Develop prioritization of projects, balancing resources and facilitating budget-building discussions

-          Enable the functions to standardize configuration and deployments, moving towards more predictable and regular timeframes and approaches. 

-          Plan for the impact of the deployments across client, DOL and the rest of the organization

-          Monitor, report, and improve operational metrics across Explore

-          Hands-on manage selected high-priority projects

 

The Senior Program Manager will work closely with the various project owners to develop a consolidated view of the program and to analyze and manage critical success factors around project launches.

 

This requires experience communicating across multiple audiences, effectively defining and utilizing escalation paths, and updating senior stakeholders. This individual should be process-minded and drive organizational standards. This individual should have a passion for online technology and keen problem solving skills.

 

This role reports into the client Program Management Office (PMO) with dotted line to the VP of Explore.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR POSITION

The candidate must have a solid track record of managing complex and high volume programs in the interactive space.

 

Experience in project and program management is required. This should include but is not limited to:

• Managing large project portfolios
• Producing requirements & specification documents
• Developing and coordinating processes around project management, issue prioritization, and project prioritization
• Experience working with business executives on project portfolio prioritization
• Hands-on experience in managing complex online projects
• Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams (creative, technology, producers, etc.)

 

The candidate must have proven experience in working in a matrix environment and managing multiple stakeholders.

 

SPECIFIC SKILLS REQUIRED

·         BS/BA degree in Computer Science or other technical field

·         MBA preferred

·         6 or more years of progressive experience in project and program management

·         Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

·         Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

·         Ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences

·         Strong commitment to project success metrics

·         Excellent attention to detail

·         Ability to contribute to & drive team learning

·         Strong planning, scheduling, and organization skills
