Title: Sr. Unix Manager/ Architect Rate: @ $ 600/day Location: NYC, NY Duration: 6 Months Experience: 10+ years Job description: The Systems Integration Engineer will be responsible for technical management and coordination of issues and projects primarily involving server, database and presentation layer technologies, and working closely with the other team members to provide understanding across all infrastructure components of a system. The engineer should be a recognized expert in UNIX (Linux/Solaris) or Windows, SPARC & Intel-based hardware and associated software technologies, as well as an interest in improving their understanding of other technical areas. Strong communication and presentation skills are essential. A background in low-latency/high frequency trading applications is highly desirable. Cross-platform expertise is preferred, as is demonstrated experience in a role equivalent to Systems Integration, or Infrastructure Architecture. The Systems Integrator will: -Produce detailed design documents including cost estimates which pass internal and external review without changes being requested -Work with the provisioning team to ensure infrastructure is built correctly first time Qualifications * Thorough knowledge of UNIX and Windows high availability and disaster recovery solutions and related enterprise technologies * At least 5 years UNIX and/or Windows support and engineering experience * Strong knowledge of SAN technologies and storage replication * Experience with hardware server technologies (Sun, HP) * Through knowledge of virtualization technologies particularly Solaris Zones & LDOMs as well as VMWare. * Knowledge of capacity planning and utilization measurement techniques * Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or closely related disciplines Need strong UNIX integrator with solutions level experience, someone who used to be a UNIX admin but has moved up solutions provider - architect level - senior consultant - NOT JUST ADMINS You Seek (Consultant/Requirement) We Find (Requirement/Consultant) ....................................
