Java/J2EE Developer with Healthcare Experience (Recent Project)

 

Washington, DC

 

3+ Months

 

The project will involve broad Java/J2EE/MQ/DB2 technologies.  

Tasks:

Perform full life-cycle analysis and recommendation for re-factoring BlueExchange application subsystem:

1. Independent analysis and documentation of current architecture, technical design, and areas for improvement
2. Recommend future-state (short-term and long-term) solutions
3. Review the analysis and recommendation with the architects, technical leads, and lead developers
4. Finalize the analysis and recommendation and present it to management team for approval

 

Skills – Java/J2EE developer:

This position requires a BA/BS in computer science or equivalent experience, and more than 8 years professional software development experience in object-oriented language, including minimum of 6 years experience with Java and J2EE. Specific requirements include, but not limited to:

§         Proven strong technical leadership

§         Experience with software development best practices (RUP, XP, Agile)

§         Strong hands on experience with UML

§         Excellent object oriented analysis and design patterns/techniques with emphasis on Java/J2EE technology

§         Extensive hands on experience with Java, J2EE, EJB, JSP, JDBC, Hibernate, JMX, JMS, Log4J

§         Wide breadth of knowledge across many Java Open-Source technologies including Ant, Struts, Spring, XML parser technology, SOA based infrastructure,  JUnit and  HTTPUnit

 

 

• Excellent application performance tuning skills 
• Experience with RDBMS (DB2, Oracle or MS SQL) 
• Experience with MQ is a big plus
