Here is the job description:

 

Title: Performance test engineer.

Location: Novato, CA

Duration: 3-4months.

 

Responsibilities:
This position is specific to Performance Engineer skills, not general testing. The purpose of this contract position is to augment the Enterprise Testing staff to enable them to fully support Performance testing for all strategic projects and legacy services.

General duties include, but are not limited to:
3-5 years of performance development or testing experience
Advanced knowledge of LoadRunner
Strong knowledge in performance testing life cycle
A strong technical background is required for this position including
strong database, server, operating system and network skills.
Working knowledge of network protocols and able to communicate effectively with network technicians.
Ability to gather data and information on complex topics. Ability to synthesize data, analyze, and draw conclusions. Ability to draw abstract complex topics to visualize on Powerpoint
Hands on experience in manual testing, test case writing, execution, defect analysis and reporting
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Develop/enhance performance workload distribution test models
Simulate number of concurrent users for load scenarios to determine response times and bottlenecks
Monitor resources and collect metrics during the tests in order to determine the impact of load/stress testing on the infrastructure.

Identify and document bottlenecks or delays.
Communicate test results and collaborate with other teams to identify issues needing more analysis and specialized expertise.
Understand technical architecture, functional and nonfunctional requirements, data models
Estimate effort, develop test plans, prepare test environment, test scenarios, data and test scripts
Support and participate in performance tuning with the technology team
Communicate technical issues and needs as appropriate
