Healthcare Business Analyst---USC / GC's

Location: Salt Lake City, UT

Duration: 3 Years

 

This position requires the ability to obtain an ADP II Clearance which requires US Citizenship or Green Card.

The primary purpose of this project is to enhance the end client's ability to provide heath care by providing a national or total view of a patient's medical and administrative record regardless of where he/she has been treated.

Consultants will formulate and define the information systems scope and objectives that will support the client's business and functional needs. These needs include, among many other services, the full range of health services provided to veterans including hospitalization, diagnostics, dental, eye care, and psychological treatment and may also include research & development. The candidates will utilize Rational tools to facilitate and compile requirements documents with respect to the provision of the Repositories systems. This will include a basic understanding of business systems and industry requirements; analyzing user needs and documenting requirements by preparing detailed specifications from which programs will be written or enhanced. May work directly with the customers. The candidates will provide analysis support that provides elicitation, analysis, documentation, validation, verification, and management of software development requirements. The candidates are expected to manage existing client relationships in coordination with the client to maintain and strengthen lines of communication.

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION/SKILLS:

 

Bachelor's degree or equivalent and 8+ years related experience. Demonstrated ability to support the following activities:

·         Develop initial high level requirements document and project plan, conduct user workshops to refine and prioritize requirements.

·         Support the development of schedules and implementation plans (e.g., MS Project) and provide best practices guidance to the development and implementation team.

·         Identify project stakeholders and requirement decision-makers. Stakeholders may include business owners, end users, subject matter experts, enterprise architects, other development teams, and management.

·         Use a variety of elicitation techniques to ensure the comprehensive acquisition of applicable requirements. These techniques may include: the use of prototypes (e.g., paper mockups of user interfaces and prototype software), examination of scenarios, formal and informal interviews, facilitated workshops, observation of business process and end user activities, questionnaires, review of technical documentation, market analysis, reverse engineering, simulations, and benchmarking of processes and systems.

·         Gather requirements to facilitate the development of software solutions, including business requirements, end user requirements, and other functional requirements as necessary, to develop the requested software solution.

·         Develop and document concrete and abstract use cases as necessary to describe user interaction and system activities that comprise the functionality of the software solution to be developed.

·         Produce UML diagrams as necessary to document and clarify software development requirements. These diagrams may include structure diagrams such as class, component, composite structure, deployment, object, and package diagrams; behavior diagrams such as activity, state machine, and use-case diagrams; and interaction diagrams such as communication, interaction overview, sequence, and timing diagrams.

·         Assist in the verification of requirements to determine realism (achievability, practicality, cost effectiveness, etc.), testability, and relevance to software development and confirm that the articulation of particular requirements for a specific intended use is fulfilled by the software.

·         Assist in the preparation of risk plans with mitigation activities defined. The risk plans will be used by the project manager to actively manage the project.

 

DESIRED SKILLS:

Experience with UML and experience or strong familiarity with Rational tools (particularly Requisite Pro).

Experience with Visio, TOAD, SQL, Oracle, Microsoft Office products and HL7. 

Strong communication skills (verbal and written)

Healthcare or Clinical experience and/or experience with clinical systems (not including financial systems)

Self motivated individual with the ability to complete tasks without direct supervision.
