Job Description:
· Responsible for managing and administering SQL 2000, 2005 and SQL 2008 databases, installing and configuring SQLServer 2000/2005/2008 databases on Windows 2003 Enterprise servers (32bit/64bit) in high availability cluster environment including reviewing, testing and implementing the database and SqlMail configuration. The DBA will be responsible for performing all changes and maintenance of the databases, including rollouts and upgrades, as well as testing and approving SQL Server patching.
· Provide senior level support on MS SQL environment.
· Support existing database management systems (DBMS) – MS SQL and Oracle systems/technologies, and small, basic projects with budget.
· Work closely with the ERL Developers and the rest of the SSOD technical team.
· Design and develop in MS SQL 2005, DBA, PLSQL, Performance Tuning, Data Warehousing, Data Modeling, Stored Procedures and Triggers.
· Ensure disaster recovery planning and implementation as business demands.
· Research, evaluate and implement DBMS related products.
· Develop business applications/ERP module implementation plan.
· Develop business applications/migration from MS SQL 2000 to MS SQL 2005 implementation plan.
· Assist .Net, Visual Basic and other Web applications, SQL backend Application Development team.
· Assist SAN engineer for DB storage management.
· Assist Websphere team for DB requirement.
· Server and rack relocation.
Qualifications:
· Demonstrated ability in deploying and working with clustered SQLServer 2005 environments in a large corporate environment.
· Experienced in deploying and working with replication, database mirroring of SQLServer 2005 instances, migrating databases, allocating space and hardware resources while implementing database and data architecture monitoring technologies and procedures.
· Must posses experience in transactional SQL and DTS stored procedures along with expertise in creating and modifying SQL Server Agent jobs.
· Must demonstrate excellent administrative skills including: tuning of the database systems, jobs, indexes, queries and configurations, backup and recovery, auditing SQL and Transact-SQL, etc.
· Must have extensive experience (administering multiple databases on single host and multiple databases on multiple host with interconnectivity that interfaces with external applications) RDBMS concepts on large systems and familiarity with Win2K3 operating system.
· Must have extensive experience at using SQLServer in virtualized environments.
· Must be experienced at creating, maintaining and enhancing support documentation and technical drawings; designing and implementing of scalable, highly available, global data architecture, including the deployment of technologies/concepts such as Service Broker, SQL replication, SQL clustering, Database mirroring, log shipping, data integration, ETL, master data management, and data warehouses.
