JDA Analyst -- Transport Management System

 

Location: Dallas, TX

 

Rate: Open

 

Duration: 6-12 months

 

The Application Specialist will require an in depth understanding of all application functionality as well as custom processes and procedures. This position will be responsible for the day to day configuration and maintenance of system parameters, testing of new functionality, upgrades and custom processes. The Application Specialist will be a resource and provide leadership for the Data Analyst and Procurement Analyst for process improvement and issue resolution.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Maintain System Configurations to ensure that the system functions as designed
* Responsible for testing TMS application functionality which will support and/or enhance Business Processes
* Responsible for testing custom applications which will support and/or enhance Business Processes
* Support MS Access Applications & Reporting
* Serve as Subject Matter Expert for questions related to the data which supports the
* Responsible for supporting technology tools, upgrades, analysis, testing and training.
* Conduct advanced training in the use of the transportation applications: Freight
* Pay/Carrier/Web DSW/Load Planning
* Support the Transportation Applications Manager in the identification, design and development of new and/or enhanced system related functionality which will support and/or
* enhance Business Processes.
* Analyze business needs and define opportunities for improvement within Lean practices
* Work within existing systems capabilities to ensure appropriate reporting tools are provided within the department
* Serve as back-up as required within the department
* Support the development of company policies and procedures
* Represent transportation department internally and externally as required
* Interact with other departments as necessary
* Support and work within all company policies and systems
* College degree in Traffic Management or Logistics with 3 + years experience with JDA Transportation Applications preferred.
* Demonstrated knowledge of domestic U.S. transportation operations, practices and rate structures
* Knowledge and experience with transportation management systems and capabilities
* Working knowledge of Inbound, Outbound, Dedicated Fleet and Carrier Settlement activities
* Ability to effectively communicate with management, give direction, conduct meetings and preside over presentations
