Job Description:

Assists with the development and maintenance of the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) program. Customizes and configures workflow to allow the integration of client/server applications. Tests ERP layout to ensure the system is meeting corporate needs. May require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty and 4-6 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. May lead and direct the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.

Working under the direction of the South Carolina Enterprise Information System (SCEIS) 

The major components of SAP included are ECC 6.0 SAP_BASIS 701, SRM 5.5 SAP_BASIS 700, BI 7.0, SRM 7.0, XI 7.0, Portal 7.0. 

The position requires analyzing system requirements, service patch administration, managing change requests, providing work estimates, configuration of standard solutions, testing and all other SAP and SAP 3rd party administration functions. This includes support of a 5 system landscape, system enhancements and project  

  Specific Duties and Responsibilities

· SAP Basis Administration in a Windows Server 2003 SQL 2005 environment

· Working knowledge of SAP in an HP infrastructure 64 bit hardware environment

· SAP Basis administration and technical core competencies tasks including SAP software installation, upgrade, applying Support Packages, and installation of add-on software components

· SAP profile parameter changes, workload analysis, system error analysis and establishment of standard Basis background jobs and system health checks and monitoring

· Impact analysis of new SAP releases to current system landscape environments

·  Design of solution and assistance to project and production support teams in deploying the solution

· Analysis of system performance, database performance, system health checks and implementation of tuning improvements

· Establishment of OSS and EarlyWatch connections where appropriate

· Participation in multi-landscape design solutions, architecture recommendations, and client strategies for continuous improvement

· Maintenance of multi-landscape environments through client copies, system refreshes, and transport management

· Responsibility for optimal disk layout, file system structures, OS tuning/performance improvements, and troubleshooting

· Technical consulting and mentoring to application development, functional, global rollout, integration and change release management teams, and also to fellow Basis Administrators

·  Technical Leadership and participation in technical projects across multiple teams

· Investigation and engineering of new technologies and solution from SAP and associated software vendors

·  Practical experience interfacing to 3rd party technologies such as Vertex, BSI, Adobe Forms, Doc Builder, Nakisa, Business Objects and other common SAP bolt-ons

 MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Three full life cycle SAP project implementation preferred.
  • 8+ years of SAP Basis Administration experience
  • 10+ years IT infrastructure experience
