`The Security Engineering team is part of the Application Infrastructure Middleware (AIM) team, which provides products, solutions and software support to applications development across the firm. AIM product solutions include database abstraction APIs, connection pools, transaction managers, messaging APIs, security APIs and services, an Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) solution and a framework for building Business Process Management (BPM) applications. The Security Engineering team focuses on solutions, software and infrastructure specifically in the area of authentication and entitlements. The team works closely with other parts of the AIM group, especially the Web Engineering and Java Engineering teams, and with development teams.

A position for a technical analyst is available within the Security Engineering team. The successful candidate will have the appropriate core skills, a good selection of the preferred skills, and will be able to demonstrate a strong sense of ownership and responsibility, and the flexibility to work in a varied and challenging environment. While primary responsibilities will be in the Security Engineering team, additional responsibilities will involve working jointly with the Web Engineering and Java Engineering teams.

Principal Responsibilities:
Design, development, maintenance and support of new and existing infrastructure, services and products with in the Security Engineering portfolio.
Actively participate in team meetings and design discussions.
Build consensus with clients and within the team
Engage and communicate with clients and developers clearly and effectively.
Work directly with clients to aid in the integration, usage, and support of AIM product(s).
Manage and own the full development lifecycle of assigned projects. This includes research, analysis, development, testing, QA, and deployment.
Develop on the Solaris, Linux, and Windows platforms in Java, C##, and C/C++.
Maintain technical awareness in the arena of security and application containers solutions

Experience/Skills:

Mandatory

Strong core skills in Java and competency in C or C## - 6+ years of experience
Strong core skills in Unix and competency in Windows
Strong understanding of the web application stack (web servers, application servers), with experience configuring and engineering production web deployments.
Unix shell scripting in one or more of the commons scripting languages (shell, perl, python etc)
Strong understanding of distributed systems development.
Proven ability and desire to learn new technical skills and concepts.
Systematic approach to problem solving.
Proven ability to interact with other technologists, understanding requirements and helping resolve issues
Initiative, drive and ability to work effectively with limited direction.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Preferred

Working knowledge of relational databases (Sybase and/or UDB preferred)
Previous software development experience in a structured environment.
Knowledge of security principles.
Previous work involving technical support to other technologists would be useful.
Knowledge of the security domain in any of the following concepts: Kerberos, SSL, Crypto, SSO, Authorization, PKI, Identity Federation
Experience with multi-threading in large-scale applications
Experience with development and deployment of distributed applications.
Experience with Apache, Tomcat, JBoss, Java frameworks (such as Hibernate, Spring, iBatis)
Good negotiation skills.
