Title: App Dev Manager

Location: Bloomfield, CT

Duration: 4 months

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Involved in the analysis, design, development and implementation of software applications
• Determines user requirements, leads application design, plans projects, establishes priorities and monitors progress.
• Evaluates project status and resource utilization and implements changes to improve the teams effectiveness.
• May coordinate with other managers to integrate project with other applications
• The candidate will be a member of a team responsible for the analysis and design and of an application for a strategic business initiative.
• The application will make use of SOA, enterprise and domain services on disparate platforms such as Java/WebSphere and the mainframe, EDI data intake, Enterprise Service Bus, and BPM.
• This particular position, working with systems and business analysts, will focus on the design and specification of the application system.

 

SKILLS:

Disciplines: Mainframe Platform, Mid-Range Platform, Windows Desktop Platform, Windows Server Platform, UNIX Client/Server Platform, Internet/Intranet (Web) Platform, E-commerce/EDI, Multi-Platform.

 

MUST HAVE

• 10+ years of successful System Delivery
• Demonstrated history of strong communication and collaboration abilities in a highly matrixed environment
• Strong Planning abilities - demonstrated history of setting milestone dates for a group of project tasks and ensuring their completion
• 4+ Years of Oracle PL/SQL coding experience a MUST.
• 4+ Years of Oracle database design experience
• 4+ Years of Java coding experience.
• Skilled in written communications
• Experience with IBM DataStage or equivalent
• Experience with an ESB and BPM.
• XML and Schema modeling
• Experience with transformation/standardization of disparate data sources and formats.
• Knowledge of Service Orientated Architecture patterns/approaches.
• Knowledge of EDI data transmission standards Knowledge of Sterling Commerce (GenTran) a big plus

 

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, at least eight, typically ten or more years of solid, diverse work experience in IT with a minimum of six years experience application program development, or the equivalent in education and work experience.
