Description
This individual will use Control-M software to perform job scheduling and maintenance and first-line problem diagnostics, communicating problems to appropriate personnel, correcting abends and resubmitting jobs by using restart/recovery procedures.
--Essential Duties/Responsibilities: -Responsible for report generation in real-time, day-ahead and ad hoc requests. -Monitoring of Critical/New job streams. -Interface with Application & Functional teams regarding process and procedures. -Act as 'gate keeper' for all new jobs created, tested and ultimately placed in production. -Plan, develop, coordinate, perform and direct the activities of batch job scheduling administration using Control-M and provide recommendations for upgrade, patch work, directory clean up, etc.. -Review and analyze daily reports for accuracy and maintain buffer between completion time and SLA requirement. -Assist all necessary personnel with fully understanding the Control-M product and its functionality. -Provide 24-hour on-call support, including evenings and weekends
--Skill sets required include the following:
• At least 2-3 years of experience in Administration, Scheduling & Development in Control-M version 6.4 or higher in a distributed windows environment.
• Expertise on the administrator and scheduler side rather than the operator level with Control-M.
• Proficient in developing batch processing scripts in a Control-M environment for processes such as Application Executables, SQL Stored Procedures, Backups, SSIS, File Watcher, AFT.
• Proficient in using/creating Control-M calendars according to scheduling requirements.
• Proficient in passing parameters to a Control M job (Auto edit/set variables).
• Proficient in generating Alerts and Post Processing according to requirements.
• Proficient in creating job dependencies.
• Experience with the Control M desktop and Enterprise Console (different versions).
• Experience with how to troubleshoot and interpret SysOut logs for Control-M issues.
• Solid understanding of the Windows environment.
• Understanding of file watcher, AFT and File transmission process.
• Good knowledge of MS SQL Scripting, Visual Basic Scripting, and Windows Batch scripting
