Job Description:

·         The person in this role with work closely with developers and other database development team members to create new features and support enhancements to feeds, components/views, and reporting systems for Next Generation Private Equity using Microsoft SQL Server.

 

Essential Day-to-Day Responsibilities: 

·         Work with developers and product owners to define requirements, perform analysis and design, and implement robust, maintainable solutions that meet the business requirements.

·         Create and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical database models.

·         Provide routine database administration support including backups, recovery, security, and replication for the development and quality assurance environments. 

·         Create technical specifications and support documentation. 

·         Create SSIS packages to load and process data. 

·         Develop and enhance stored procedures.

·         Design and create reports using Reporting Services and Analysis Services. 

·         Design and develop maintenance for cubes using Analysis Services. 

·         Assist in establishing, maintaining, and communicating standards, guidelines and data architecture best practices.

·         Mentor and work closely with development and implementation teams.

·         For each phase of a project, work with the project management to identify and mitigate data architecture risks.

·         Lead and participate in reviews and quality assurance processes to ensure that the data architectures and standards are being adhered to.

 

Education: 

·         Bachelors degree in computer science, or other related field is a MUST.                                   

                                   

Required Skills:

·         6+ years database development and administration using Microsoft SQL Server is required.

·         Experience with Microsoft Integration Services including writing robust data ingests, is required.  

·         Experience with Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services (OLAP needed) including designing and maintaining cubes is required. 

·         In depth T-SQL knowledge is required, including advanced tuning skills.

·         Experience with data modeling and use of data modeling tools, such as ERWin or PowerDesigner, is required.  

·         Experience with Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services is required.  

                                   

Desired Skills: 

·         Knowledge of Visual C# is a plus. 

·         Experience with Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services. (will be used later on in project so contractor most likely won't get to that point)

·         Knowledge with transactional replication.

·         Knowledge of Fast (tech search) is a great plus
