Experience Required:

 

Essential:

 

·         Proven experience of the full lifecycle of software development and delivery.

·         Experience of working in a first or second line support environment.

·         Application development experience in Java. Primarily this should be core server-side Java rather than J2EE.

·         Strong numerical skills ideally with a numerate degree.

 

 

 

Personal Attributes Required:

 

·         Minimum 3 years experience of working within a technology development and support environment.

·         Comfortable working in high pressure environment.

·         Ability to work closely with business groups including trading, finance, technology and market risk.

·         Self-motivated & proactive.

·         Works to deadlines.

 

 

 

Secondary:  (Not required but advantageous)

 

·         Experience of Financial Risk Management applications with knowledge of financial mathematics, including how instruments are priced and risk is measured.

·         Experience of scripting languages such as Python, Tcl, general Unix shell scripting.

·         Application development experience in C++. Ideally gained within a Unix based environment.

·         Experience of working with relational database technologies, specifically Oracle and SQL Server. To have been actively involved in the design and development of application databases.

·         Application development experience in C# / .NET, with particular focus on client-side applications.

·         Experience of working in a front office environment ideally in the Commodities business.
