Description

 

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

 

 

 

This is a Software Engineer position in the company.  The candidate is responsible for delivering Reports and Business Intelligence for the Visibility Manager product.

 

 

Qualification

 

 

 

 

• Minimum 5-7 years working IT experience in software systems development and programming. 5 years experience in data warehousing/Data mart and business intelligence.
• Knowledge of software development standards and procedures
• Solid experience with SQL, working with relational databases such as Oracle is preferred.
• Must be able to manage a heavy workload in a complex, demanding and rapidly changing environment
• Deep hands-on experience (Report Studio, Query Studio, Framework Manager, Cognos Connection,) with the Cognos 8 reporting tool suite
• Deep database optimization and tuning experience with Oracle 10g
• Ability to support multiple concurrent projects
• Excellent communication and interpersonal relationship skills
• Strong customer service orientation
• Strong problem solving and analytic skills

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

 

 

 

• Responsible for gathering business requirements, developing, Testing, implementing, and documentation of technical solutions according to approved standards/procedures
• Responsible for the design, development, and support of high profile Cognos 8-based reporting systems that help end users access and Analyze data across databases and data marts
• Responsible for developing managed/BI reports,  custom Cognos Reports and Dashboards using Report Studio and Query tools.
• SQL and PL/SQL skills in the creation of Oracle stored procedures, functions, triggers, views and other Objects
• SQL Querying - complex joins, correlated sub-queries, aggregate functions and analytic functions.
• Document functional and technical requirements for the metadata layer and the BI reports
• Understanding of relational and dimensional data modeling techniques
• Exposure to Multi-dimensional OLAP Technologies
• Reviewing and analyzing data from multiple internal and external sources
• Assist the testing team and facilitate the user acceptance testing
• Work closely with user groups, database administrators, application developers, systems administrators and testing teams
• Participate in process improvement efforts and other cross-functional meetings
• Participate on multiple projects at one time, while maintaining a high level of customer service and focus on project deliverables
